A non-league football club got a boost of $4.5m (around £3.6m) from two cryptocurrency investors. Real Bedford FC (RBFC) received the Bitcoin investment from Winklevoss Capital, a company owned by Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

Podcaster Peter McCormack purchased the team, currently in the ninth tier of English football, in 2021 with plans to elevate it to a Premier League status. With this investment, the twins will become co-owners of the club alongside the cryptocurrency podcaster.
