In a promising start to April, Sri Lanka has greeted more than 50,000 visitors within the first nine days of the month, contributing to a total of 686,321 tourists for the year so far.
During this period, a sum of 50,537 tourists have arrived in the country, indicating a positive trend for the tourism sector, which has been gradually recovering from various challenges over the past five years.
Leading the influx of tourists are visitors from various regions, with Indian tourists ranking highest at 9,725 arrivals. Following closely are travelers from the UK, numbering 5,878, and Russian tourists totaling 5,057. Additionally, travelers from Germany, France, Australia, China, the US, Canada, and the Netherlands have also visited. This diverse mix of international visitors highlights Sri Lanka’s allure as a desirable destination among global travelers.
