Google has terminated 28 employees after a sit-in protest over the tech giant’s contract to supply cloud computing and artificial intelligence services to the Israeli government.

The dismissals occurred following a demonstration by the group No Tech for Apartheid, which occupied Google offices in California and New York on Tuesday to protest the $1.2 billion contract known as Project Nimbus.
