State-run SriLankan Airlines has reported a net profit of 1,124 million rupees for the nine months ending December 2023, a significant turnaround from a loss of 73.26 billion rupees for the full year ending March 2023, according to official data.
SriLankan Airlines generated revenues of 248 billion rupees during the nine-month period, with 205.6 billion rupees from passenger income, 22.6 billion rupees from freight, and 18.7 billion rupees from other unspecified incomes.
Operating costs totaled 223.8 billion rupees, including 86.3 billion rupees on fuel, 22.09 billion rupees on employee expenses, and another 6.7 billion rupees on crew costs.
